Telangana Cabinet expansion: No clear announcement after Revanth Reddy’s meeting with Congress top brass in New Delhi
There is buzz in Gandhi Bhavan that Cabinet expansion could happen after Ugadi; there are six vacancies and many aspirants are seeking berths
Hyderabad: Aspirants hoping for Cabinet berths and posts will have to wait a little longer as there was no clear announcement from the Congress high command on Monday.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy and TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud were summoned by the high command for an urgent meeting in New Delhi on Monday.
AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge, general secretary KC Venugopal and Rahul Gandhi attended the meeting at Indira Bhavan.
The party high command sought all details regarding Cabinet expansion, corporation appointments, PCC posts and others, including welfare and development programmes being implemented in the State, Goud said.
Briefing about the meeting, the TPCC president said all aspects would be announced very soon. “The high command will take a decision shortly,” he added.
Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi enquired about the health and education sectors. He also checked about the establishment of integrated schools and benefits to be extended to SC, ST, BC and minorities through the schools, he said.
There are six vacancies in the Cabinet and there are many aspirants, who are seeking berths. Names of Former Minister Sudarshan Reddy, Premsagar Rao, Vakiti Srihari, Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, Malreddy Rangareddy and Balu Naik are among the probabales.
