Telangana CEO directs officials to clear pending SIR cases

Telangana CEO C Sudharsan Reddy directed election officials to expedite the ongoing SIR-2026 process and clear pending applications and hearing cases. He asked officials to meet daily targets, guide electors properly, ensure transparency and follow due process.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharsan Reddy on Monday directed booth-level officers and other election officials to expedite work under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision-2026 and promptly clear pending applications and hearing cases.

Reddy issued the directions during a statewide video conference with election officers from BRKR Bhavan. Officials were asked to address anomalies and no-mapping categories quickly, meet daily targets, and complete assigned work within the stipulated timeline, according to a press release.

Pending Forms 6, 7 and 8 and enquiry or hearing cases should be cleared promptly while giving electors adequate time to submit supporting documents. BLO supervisors and BLOs should know the indicative lists of documents to guide electors properly.

Booth-level agents should not serve notices, and their role should be limited to helping BLOs identify houses. Additional computer operators may be deployed where required, under the supervision of AEROs, EROs and BLO supervisors, to clear pending cases.

Forms and relevant information should be displayed regularly on notice boards and shared with political parties to ensure transparency. Family members may submit documents on behalf of relatives wherever applicable.

Persons with disabilities and senior citizens should not be required unnecessarily to attend hearings physically, while NRIs may submit documents through authorised proxies. Officials should focus on cases identified as ineligible and issue speaking orders after due process.
