Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C Sudharshan Reddy on Saturday directed the officials concerned to ensure that the mandatory seven-day notice period was strictly maintained during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

The CEO instructed booth-level officers (BLOs) to deliver SIR notices to electors in person and obtain proper acknowledgements. He asked them to remind electors about the date, time and venue of the hearing at least two days in advance.

Reddy, along with Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr Vasam Venkateswar Reddy and Deputy Chief Electoral Officer GS Chary, held a video conference with all district electoral officers (DEOs), electoral registration officers (EROs) and assistant electoral registration officers (AEROs) regarding the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026.

The meeting focused on issues relating to claims and objections, the delivery of notices and the conduct of hearings under SIR-2026.

Instructing officials to strictly follow the prescribed procedure, the CEO said each activity should be properly documented and duly recorded.

He asked the officials concerned to prepare a proper hearing schedule based on the number of hearings required and ensure wide publicity regarding the prescribed documents that electors are required to submit.

Officials were instructed to share the no-mapping and anomalies case lists with political parties. They were also asked to share lists of claims and objections with political parties on a weekly basis during meetings with political parties.

Further, the CEO reviewed the service of notices, preparation of hearing schedules and distribution of cases among the AEROs and additional AEROs.
