Hyderabad: Criticism is mounting over the Telangana Congress for its ‘delayed’ reaction to the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay’s son alleged involvement in a minor girl’s assault case.

Incidentally, the Telangana Congress reacted to the issue much later than the party did in New Delhi. Taking to X, @INCIndia said, “Modi’s favourite Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s rogue son Bhageerath has sexually assaulted a minor girl,”

Hours later on Saturday evening, the Telangana Congress on X said Bandi Sanjay’s son made a minor girl drink alcohol at a farmhouse and sexually harassed her. Taking moral responsibility, Bandi Sanjay should resign from his position, the Telangana Congress demanded.

However, a few sections pointed out that the Telangana Congress had reacted only after the BRS raised the issue swiftly. They also pointed out that the official X handle of Telangana Congress reacted only after BRS working president questioned the Congress and BJP parties over the issue.

Questions were raised by different sections over the Congress leaders’ selective reactions, especially regarding Bandi Sanjay’s son’s issue.

Interestingly, a few Congress leaders in the State immediately reacted when the Union Minister’s supporters attacked BRS MLA Gangula Kamalakar’s office last week.

In fact, Congress MLA Medipally Sathyam had welcomed the attack on the BRS MLA’s camp office. In a video message, circulating on social media, he even warned the BRS leaders and workers to mend their ways.

Ashok, an X user, asked “What happened to your local Indian National Congress party? Why are they silent on the Bandi Bhageerath issue? It clearly looks like there is an understanding between the T Indian National Congress and the T BJP,”
