Telangana Congress leaders try to pacify Anjan Kumar Yadav after Jubilee Hills ticket goes to Naveen Yadav

Telangana Congress leaders are working to placate former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav after the Jubilee Hills Assembly ticket was given to Naveen Yadav. Reports suggest Anjan Kumar considered contesting independently, prompting senior leaders to intervene and seek a resolution.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Congress leaders have begun their efforts pacify former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, who was an aspirant for the party ticket from the Jubilee Hills Assembly. With the party high command choosing Naveen Yadav as its candidate, Anjan Kumar Yadav made no bones about his displeasure and had planned to raise a banner of revolt.

Sensing that the senior Congress leader’s revolt could affect the chances of Naveen Yadav, party leaders have now begun efforts to placate Anjan Kumar Yadav.

Anjan Kumar Yadav, was extremely keen on contesting the by-election on Congress ticket and had even conducted different programmes in the constituency. Citing his seniority in the party, he exuded confidence that his candidature would be approved by the party leadership.

However, he was left disappointed after Naveen Kumar Yadav’s candidature was announced by the party high command. A few leaders from Gandhi Bhavan informed that Anjan Kumar was very upset as his candidature was not considered by the party.

Unconfirmed reports said that the former MP was gearing up to file nomination and contest the by-election against the party diktat. Anjan Kumar said that he would announce the future course of action after discussing with his followers. This was the outcome of serving for 40 years to the party, Anjan Kumar Yadav was reported to have told his followers.

Accordingly, the party senior leaders led by AICC Telangana incharge Meenakshi Natarajan, AICC incharge Viswanathan, BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Labour Minister Vivek Venkatswamy, called on the former MP at his residence. The outcome of the meeting is yet to be announced by the leaders.

Apart from Anjan Kumar Yadav, former Minister KLN Yadav’s daughter-in-law Kanjerla Vijayalaxmi was also one of the contenders for contesting the by-election representing the Congress.
