Unconfirmed reports said that the former MP was gearing up to file nomination and contest the by-election against the party diktat. Anjan Kumar said that he would announce the future course of action after discussing with his followers. This was the outcome of serving for 40 years to the party, Anjan Kumar Yadav was reported to have told his followers.

Accordingly, the party senior leaders led by AICC Telangana incharge Meenakshi Natarajan, AICC incharge Viswanathan, BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Labour Minister Vivek Venkatswamy, called on the former MP at his residence. The outcome of the meeting is yet to be announced by the leaders.
