Congress MLA from Munugode Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy.
Hyderabad: Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy raised alarm over the severe water crisis in his constituency during Zero Hour in the Assembly. He pointed out that Munugode has the highest fluoride levels globally, and the intense heat has caused groundwater depletion in Narayanpur and Choutuppal mandals, affecting both drinking water supply and irrigation.
He noted that while water allocation for Choutuppal was based on the 2011 census, the town’s population has surged due to industrial growth, worsening the crisis. Urging immediate action, he requested the government to address the drinking water issue without further delay.
The Congress MLA blamed the previous BRS government for failing to implement Mission Bhagiratha effectively to provide drinking water to every household, despite the initiative winning numerous accolades including his appreciating the scheme during his previous term.
