Hyderabad: Congress MLC Teenmaar Mallanna continued his defiance of the party high command and said he would not be cowed down by showcause notices issued to him by the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC). He has also made it clear that he would further intensify his fight on behalf of the Backward Class people in the State.
The Telangana Congress’s Disciplinary Committee had issued a show cause notice to the MLC on Wednesday for violating party norms and sought an explanation before February 12. He had earlier criticised the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and raised a banner of revolt against the party on the issue of the Caste Survey done by the Govenrment.
The Congress MLC has been vociferously opposing the caste survey conducted by the State government. He even dubbed the caste survey as a fake survey and a conspiracy to usurp BCs rights.
At a public meeting in Warangal last week, he had made objectionable comments against a community. Irked over his comments and demands from different sections, the party Disciplinary Committee headed by G Chinna Reddy served show cause notice to the MLC.
However, Teenmaar Mallanna stood firm on his ground and said he would bog down under such pressure tactics.
Interestingly, Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy made derogatory comments against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy in the past but they were spared. As they were upper caste leaders there was no action against them but a BC leader like me was served show cause notice, Teenmaar Mallanna said, pointing out that the Disciplinary Committee was also headed by an upper caste leader.
“It is secondary whether I will reply to the notice or what action the party takes against me. I will make one thing clear, I will not heed to these tactics and continue to fight for BCs cause,” Teenmaar Mallanna added.
