Nalgonda: CPI(M) State secretariat committee member Julakanti Ranga Reddy on Saturday urged the Centre to pay ex-gratia to the families of those who died of Covid in the country.
Speaking during an online meeting of CPI(M) district committee of Nalgonda, Ranga Reddy alleged that the Centre had utterly failed to control the spread of the virus which had claimed the lives of thousands of people. The Centre and State governments should announce ex-gratia to the families of those who died of Covid, on the lines of Kerala government, he said.
He said Narendra Modi government had failed to take up effective measures to control the spread of the virus. He strongly objected to the Centre’s move to take control of vaccine distribution. He also urged the State government to bring Covid treatment under Aarogyasri for the benefit of the poor people.
CPI(M) district secretary Mudireddy Sudhakar Reddy and district committee members participated in the meeting.
