Man found dead under suspicious circumstances
Hyderabad: An unidentified man was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Afzalgunj in the city on Thursday.
According to the police, the man aged around 45 years and clad in a black colour T-shirt and grey pants, was found lying dead near Indian Petrol Pump, Putlibowli, Afzalgunj by local people.
On information, the police reached the spot and shifted the body to mortuary for postmortem examination. A case was registered and investigation launched to identify the persons and ascertain the cause of death.

Man held with 21g MDMA
Hyderabad: The Prohibition and Excise Department sleuths caught a man who was in possession of MDMA drug on Thursday and seized 21.3 grams of MDMA from him.
Acting on a tip off, the enforcement team caught K Venkat Kumar, a resident of Uppal, while he was carrying the drugs to deliver it to his clients.
According to the officials, Venkat had brought the drug from Bengaluru at Rs 3,000 per gram and was planning to sell it to customers at a premium price of Rs 5,000 a gram. The worth of the drug seized is Rs 1.5 lakhs. A case was registered.

One killed, four injured as auto overturns in Nirmal
Nirmal: An elderly man was killed on the spot, while four others sustained injuries when the auto-rickshaw they were travelling in overturned between Kalwa and Beeravelli villages in Dilawarpur mandal on Thursday.
Police said Koppula Ashanna (55), a daily wage earner from Thandra village in Sarangpur mandal, sustained severe injuries when the three-wheeler turned turtle. He died on the spot. Four women who were travelling in the vehicle also suffered injuries. Their condition was stated to be stable.
The group had hired the vehicle to travel from Nirmal to Thandra. Police suspect that the driver’s negligence caused the accident.
Ashanna’s wife, Muttavva, lodged a complaint with the police. A case was registered against Shravan, the auto-rickshaw driver from Donigaon. An investigation is underway.

Fire breaks out at private hospital, none hurt
Hyderabad: A fire broke out in a private hospital building at Venkateshwara Colony in Narayanaguda on Thursday. No casualties were reported. A short circuit in air-conditioner was suspected to be the reason.
As per available information, the staff on seeing the fire alerted the fire department. The fire personnel along with the fire engine reached the spot and doused the flames immediately.
However, the smoke which engulfed the surroundings caused panic in the hospital premises and surroundings.
Officials said no staff or patients were injured and that furniture and other combustible material were damaged in the fire.

Woman dies during surgery in Jagtial; kin blame medical negligence
Jagtial: A 42-year-old woman, Aitha Rajavva, died allegedly while undergoing surgery at a private nursing home in Jagtial town on Thursday.
A resident of Pochampalli in Sarangapur mandal, Rajavva had approached Pallavi Nursing Home seeking treatment for infertility. Following medical examinations, doctors diagnosed a tumour in her uterus and advised surgical removal.
However, Rajavva died during the procedure. Enraged by the incident, her family members staged a protest in front of the hospital, accusing the doctors of negligence.
The hospital management, however, denied the allegations, stating that the patient suffered a heart attack after being administered anaesthesia and passed away before the surgery began.
The protest was called off after police intervened and assured the aggrieved family that justice would be done.

Retired employee killed in road accident in Kothagudem
Kothagudem: A retired employee died in a road accident at Sarapaka in Burgampad mandal of the district on Thursday.
The deceased, Gangula Rajeshwara Rao (73) of Sarapaka, was travelling on a two-wheeler when a truck laden with iron rods hit his vehicle killing him on the spot.
He was said to have worked as a manager in Bhadrachalam Paperboards Limited (BPL). The local police registered a case in connection with the incident.

Two injured in fire in petrol pump
Hyderabad: Two persons suffered injuries when a fire broke out during welding works in a petrol pump at Attapur in Rajendranagar on Thursday evening.
As per available information, the incident occurred when both the workers were engaged in welding works of the lids and valves of the underground fuel tanker using a gas cylinder.
A spark caused eruption of fire. There was no blast but the fire injured two workers at the spot.
The alert staff immediately informed the Fire Department and police who reached the spot and doused the flame immediately, averting a major loss.
The Rajendranagar police are investigating. The injured are being treated at a nearby private hospital. Their condition is said to be stable.
