Telangana deep freeze: Single-digit chill grips Hyderabad outskirts
Telangana experiences intense winter with single-digit minimum temperatures across Hyderabad and northern districts. IMD forecasts a further drop of 2–3 degrees Celsius. Cold and dry winds are expected to continue for the next two days, with gradual improvement thereafter.

Hyderabad: The intense winter season has set in across Telangana with multiple locations in districts and outskirts of Hyderabad recording single-digit temperatures.
The dry and cold winds are expected to continue and further intensify, as the Indian-Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad forecast on Monday indicated a drop of about 2 degree Celsius to 3 degree Celsius in minimum temperatures across the State.
It’s not just northern districts such as Adilabad, KumaramBheem Asifabad and Nirmal; even the peripheral areas of Greater Hyderabad, including Serlingampally, University of Hyderabad and Rajendranagar are consistently recording single-digit minimum temperatures.
While Sirpur in KumaramBheem Asigabad recorded a minimum of 7 degree Celsius, the suburban regions of Hyderabad including Serilingampally, UoH have recorded minimum temperatures between 8 degree C and 9.8 degree Celsius.
The lowest temperature of 8.2 degree Celsius, between Sunday evening and Monday morning, was recorded in Ibrahimpatnam while UOH recorded 8.8 degree C, followed by Rajendranagar at 10 degree C.
Some of the other regions that recorded lowest temperatures in Hyderabad include 11.2 degree C in Secunderabad Cantonment, West Marredpally 11.5 degree C, Alwal 11.9 degree C, Qutbullapur recorded 12 degree C, Gachibowli 12.1 degree C and Malkajgiri 12,7 degree C.
The minimum temperatures in the rest of the regions of Hyderabad ranged between 13 degree C and 15 degree C.
“Similar range of temperatures are expected to continue for the next 2 days across Telangana. After that, gradual improvement in temperature is expected,” independent weather tracker T Balaji (Telangana Weatherman) posted on X.
