Telangana records single-digit temperatures as November winter cold intensifies
Telangana experiences a surge in winter cold, with 11 locations recording single-digit temperatures. Kohir and Yalal saw the lowest at 8.1°C. IMD forecasts minimum temperatures to remain 3°C to 4°C below normal over the next two to three days.
Hyderabad: Telangana is witnessing a surge in the November winter cold with single digit temperature observed in 11 locations in the State on Saturday. The lowest minimum temperature of 8.1 degree Celsius was registered at Kohir and Yalal mandals of Sangareddy and Vikarabad districts.
Mandals where a single digit temperatures in degree Celsius recorded were Sirpur (8.4) in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district, Bibipet (8.6) in Kamareddy, Bazarhathnoor (8.6) in Adilabad, Akbarpet-Bhoompally (8.9) in Siddipet, Rudrangi (9.0) in Rajanna Siricilla, Ramayampet (9.6) in Medak, Serilingampally (9.8) in Rangareddy, Sarangapur (9.9) in Nirmal and Varni (9.9) in Nizamabad.
The minimum temperatures have fallen far below the normal recordings, with -5.6-degree Celsius departure from the normal, the least average minimum temperature of 11.6 degree Celsius was registered in Sangareddy district. The highest departure of -6.1 degree Celsius was observed in Kamareddy district where the minimum temperature was 11.0 degree Celsius.
According to information released by the Telangana Development Planning Society, the lowest minimum temperature of 8.1 degree Celsius was recorded at Kohir. In the GHMC area, the lowest minimum temperature of 9.8 degree Celsius was observed at the University of Hyderabad in Rangareddy district.
In its report released on November 14, the India Meteorological department said minimum temperatures are likely to be below normal by 3 degree Celsius to 4 degree Celsius for next two to three days.
