Telangana: Eight-year-old raped by two relatives in Bhupalpally
An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two relatives in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district of Telangana in separate incidents. Police arrested a 21-year-old man and apprehended a minor after a complaint was filed by the victim’s parents

Bhupalpally: A minor boy and a youngster were apprehended by the Regonda police for allegedly raping an eight-year-old girl at Ponagallu village of Regonda mandal in the district.
According to police, the incident took place on Sunday when the child was alone at her house as her parents had gone to work. The 21-year-old accused, Srikanth, allegedly took the girl to his house and sexually assaulted her. When the girl started crying, he dropped her back at her home.
Police said Srikanth committed the crime after the minor boy revealed to him that he had sexually assaulted the girl a couple of days earlier at her residence. Both the accused were relatives of the girl and fled the village after the incident.
The girl’s parents came to know about the incident after returning from work. Based on a complaint from the parents, Regonda police visited the girl’s house and booked a case against the accused under the POCSO Act and relevant Sections of the BNS.
The girl was shifted to the District Government Hospital for treatment. Local MLA Gandra Satyanarayana Rao visited the hospital, consoled the family and asked doctors to ensure better treatment for the girl. DSP Sampath Rao and SI K Rajesh are investigating the case.
