HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who arrived in the city from New Delhi on Tuesday evening, did not attend the Iftar party organised by the State government at LB Stadium since the model code of conduct in connection with the Hyderabad Local Authorities MLC election was in vogue.

Save for Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, who left the venue within minutes after arriving, not many Congress leaders participated in the party.

Earlier, permission was sought from the Election Commission of India to host the Iftar party throughout the State, including Hyderabad. Approval was also sought for the Chief Minister, Ministers and other public representatives to participate in the party. However, the Election Commission of India did not give approval, according to information from the Chief Minister’s Office.
