Hyderabad: The government employees are staging lunch hour demonstrations at Secretariat, Hyderabad Collectorate and Bhima Bhavan here on Friday to press for their demands and appealing the State government to fulfill the promises made to them.

Under the aegis of Joint Action Committee of Telangana Employees, Gazetted Officers, Teachers, Workers and Pensioners (TGEJAC), the employees are staging the demonstrations.

At Secretariat, the employees sporting black badges and holding placards, squatted at the ‘Bahubali’ main entrance.

The TGEJAC is demanding the government to obtain and implement the second Pay Revision Committee before June 2. Immediate release of Rs.13,000 crore of pending bills of pensioners, frame guidelines of EHS scheme and implementation of Old Pension Scheme as promised by the Congress party during assembly elections in 2023.

The TGEJAC State-level committee meeting was conducted on April 7 and it was resolved to stage agitations in a phased manner in support of their long-pending demands.

In the first phase, lunch hour demonstrations are being conducted sporting black badges on Friday. Similar protests are being conducted at all mandal offices and district Collector offices across the State.
