Telangana: Ex-State footballer Ajay succumbs to Covid-19

Hyderabad: Former State footballer Ajay Babu died due to Covid-19 on Monday. He was 59. He is survived by wife and a daughter.
Ajay Babu made his debut at the School Nationals in Guwahati in 1978 and represented the undivided Andfhra Pradesh in sub-junior nationals in 1979 and 1980. He was also the member of the first batch of sports hostel in LB Stadium and played for the combined State in the Santosh Trophy in Chennai in 1982. He joined the State Bank of India and State team and represented both teams in several tournaments at the national level.
Telangana Football Association president Mohd Ali Rafath, secretary GP Palguna and chairman KT Mahi condoled the death of Ajay Babu.
