Hyderabad: Director General of Police B Shivadhar Reddy on Friday inaugurated the new Bharosa Centre at Shamshabad under the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.
Aimed at providing comprehensive support to women and children in distress, the centre, staffed by trained women personnel, will extend services such as legal aid, medical assistance, psychological counselling, and government compensation to victims, especially those under the POCSO Act. It will cater to 17 police station limits across the Rajendranagar and Shamshabad zones.
Speaking at the inauguration, Shivadhar Reddy described Bharosa Centres as one-stop crisis support systems ensuring justice, protection, and emotional care. He announced that similar centres would soon be set up across all districts in Telangana.
The Shamshabad Centre, the third in Cyberabad, was sponsored by the Bangarutalli Foundation (BBG Group) and executed by PVN Infra.
Launched in 2016, the Bharosa initiative currently operates 33 centres across 24 districts and six Commissionerates, providing integrated police, legal, medical, and counselling support to women and children across the state.
