WANAPARTHY: Farmers in many districts are up in arms against the Congress government for failing to procure their stocks and making sufficient arrangements. At many places, farmers are hitting the streets and are raising slogans against the government.

To make matters worse, unseasonal rains are resulting in additional losses for the farmers as heaps of paddy are getting soaked in the water. This apart, the procured stocks were also not being transported to the warehouses, the farmers complained.

Similarly, farmers at Makthal town in Narayanpet district staged a protest demanding provision of sufficient gunny bags. Raising slogans against the government, they squatted on the main road in the town.

On Monday, at Maganuru, the farmers had entered into arguments with officers at the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Society office for failing to provide sufficient gunny bags.
