Rajanna-Sircilla: Urea shortage continues to trouble farmers across the State. Along with standing in long serpentine queues, the old practice of leaving slippers and pattadar passbooks in front of fertiliser shops to secure their place has resurfaced.
In a fresh incident at Boinpally on Saturday, farmers braved the rain and queued up outside the Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society. On learning that 200 bags of urea had arrived, they rushed to the society early in the morning to secure supplies.
However, they had to stand in queue for a long time, with some of them leaving their footwear and passbooks to book their places in the line.
