Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A gang of alleged poachers was detained by forest officials at Kagaznagar on Sunday night.
Forest officials said a gang of around 10 members was detained at the railway station with the help of local police following a tip-off.
The members of the gang were being interrogated at the office of Kagaznagar Forest Divisional Officer. Details of the interrogations are awaited.
Officials suspected the members to be poachers of wild animals, in particular tigers, in Maharashtra. They reportedly seized traps used for hunting wild animals.
It was learnt that the members claimed they belonged to a nomadic community and would hunt rats to eke out a living. They were said to have requested officials to release them.
