Telangana gets another deemed to be university
The Union Ministry of Education has recently issued a gazette notification declaring Malla Reddy Vishwavidyapeeth, Suraram, Hyderabad, with seven units as an institution deemed to be university under distinct category.

Hyderabad: Telangana has added another deemed to be university. The Union Ministry of Education has recently issued a gazette notification declaring Malla Reddy Vishwavidyapeeth, Suraram, Hyderabad, with seven units as an institution deemed to be university under distinct category.
Malla Reddy Institute of Pharmaceuticals Sciences, Malla Reddy College of Engineering for Women, Malla Reddy Institute of Medical Sciences, Malla Reddy Medical College for Women, Malla Reddy Institute of Dental Sciences, Malla Reddy Dental College for Women and Malla Reddy College of Nursing are part of seven units.
The status came with riders. The institution has been asked not to engage or indulge in any activities that are of commercial and profit making in nature. It has also been asked to get rating for courses by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and valid accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC),
The institute has been told not to confine only to presently new emerging areas but make endeavour to expand in other areas in accordance with the UGC regulations / guidelines as well as National Education Policy-2020.
Presently, there are four institutions – Aurora Higher Education and Research, Chaitanya, ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education and IIIT-Hyderabad – with the deemed to be university status in the State.
