KARIMNAGAR: A government employee, Muluguri Suresh has allegedly gone absconding after duping several people of about Rs 40 crore.

A resident of Sapthagiri colony here, Suresh was working with the Peddapalli electricity department and collected the amount from the local people promising to give high returns by investing in an online business.

As he disappeared recently, the victims staged a protest in front of his residence.

According to the victims, Suresh collected Rs 1 lakh to Rs 50 lakh from the people by promising high returns by investing the money in an online business. He collected the amount over the last three and a half years.

As he failed to return their amount even after repeated requests, they had lodged a complaint with the police. However, no action was taken against Suresh.

As the victims mounted pressure for amount, Suresh went absconding. Realising that they were duped, the victims staged a protest in front of his residence. They wanted the authorities to intervene and take the initiative to get their money back.
