Telangana government orders additional soybean procurement
The state government, through Markfed, has already procured 59,000 metric tonnes of soybean from farmers at the minimum support price of Rs 4,892 per quintal, as announced by the central government
Hyderabad: The state government issued orders on Tuesday facilitating procurement of an additional quantity of 25,000 metric tonnes of soybean.
The state government, through Markfed, has already procured 59,000 metric tonnes of soybean from farmers at the minimum support price of Rs 4,892 per quintal, as announced by the central government.
In response to the requests from public representatives and district collectors, the state government has now directed Markfed to procure an additional 25,000 metric tonnes of soybean through 49 centres that were already opened.
As of now, the highest procurement has been recorded was in Adilabad with 27,811 metric tonnes and followed by Nirmal with 14,476 metric tonnes. The districts of Kamareddy Nizamabad and Sangareddy have accounted for procurement of 7,867.75 metric tonnes, 5,413.85 metric tonnes, and 3,339 metric tonnes respectively.
