Hyderabad: After having failed to ensure payment of the Rythu Bharosa financial assistance to farmers for the last couple of seasons, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy claimed that the Congress government was extending financial assistance of Rs.12,000 per acre annually under the scheme.
So far, Rs.18,000 crore had been deposited into farmers’ accounts under Rythu Bharosa. The scheme would be formally launched by Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka from March 22, he said while addressing Ugadi celebrations here on Thursday.
With farmers struggling to secure sufficient urea bags this season, the Chief Minister claimed the State government was according top priority to farmers’ welfare.
“Due to the effective implementation of farmer-friendly welfare programmes, Telangana’s image got boosted in the country,” Revanth Reddy said.
