Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma lauds steel bank initiative for SHGs in Husnabad
Governor Jishnu Dev Varma praised the distribution of steel banks to SHG women in 164 villages of Husnabad as a revolutionary step towards curbing plastic use. He urged women to spread awareness and lead the sustainable living initiative across Telangana

Siddipet: Governor Jishnu Dev Varma termed the idea of steel bank distribution to SHG women in all the villages of Husnabad constituency as revolutionary as telecommunications and IT revolutions, since that will make the people avoid using plastic in the coming days.
The Governor said the idea will help protect the health of people and free the soil and environment from plastic.
Addressing the women before distributing the steel banks to SHG women from 164 villages in the constituency at Koheda in Siddipet district on Thursday, he called upon them to spread awareness among the people on the need to use steel utensils during functions instead of plastic.
The Governor appealed to the SHG women to emerge as leaders to take the idea forward. Prabhakar founded the Ponnam Sathaiah Goud Trust to carry out various social activities in his constituency.
He has spent some Rs 2.54 crore to distribute steel banks to 276 SHGs in 164 villages of his constituency spread across Karimnagar, Siddipet, and Hanmakonda districts.
Minister Konda Surekha, IAS officers Dana Kishore, Divya Devarajan, Pamela Sathpathi, Sneha Shabarish, and Hymavathi, and others were present.
