Karimnagar: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar informed that welfare of all sections of the society was of top priority for the Telangana government. He distributed Ramzan gift packages to Muslim beneficiaries at a programme held in the Collectorate auditorium here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Kamalakar extended Ramzan greetings to the members of the Muslims community. Stating that Ramzan was a most precious festival for Muslims, he said community people were unable to celebrate the festival according to their religious practice for the last two years due to Covid-19 pandemic. He hoped that the pandemic related issues will be solved by next year.
People of all religions and castes were being given equal importance by the Telangana government after formation of separate State. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was providing gifts to Hindus, Christians and Muslims on the occasion of Dasara, Christmas and Ramzan respectively, he said.
“People of all religions are unable to celebrate their respective festivals due to Covid pandemic. Irrespective of religion and caste, all sections of the society should lead peaceful life in cooperation with each other,” he added.
People would lead peaceful life in the areas where law and order was under control as well as developmental activities were in progress. A total of 4,000 Ramzan gift packs were distributed to beneficiaries including 3,000 in Karimnagar urban mandal, 400 in Kothapalli municipality and 300 each in Karimnagar rural and Kothapalli mandals.
Additional Collector GV Shyamrprasad Lal, Minority Welfare Officer Madhusudhan, RDO Anand Kumar, MPPs, ZPTCs and Tahsildhars and others participated in the programme.
