Hyderabad: The Telangana government is mulling inspection of facilities in private engineering colleges across the State and is likely to constitute a subcommittee comprising senior officials and professors from different engineering departments to carry out inspections.
The private engineering colleges, however, accused the government of targeting them for raising the issue of fee reimbursement dues that have been pending since 2020. They have already formed the Federation of Association of Telangana Higher Education Institutions (FATHI), demanding the release of Rs 8,000 crore in fee dues.
According to management of private engineering colleges, six colleges have already approached the High Court over the fee dues. An engineering college owner said that 100 more colleges are planning to approach the court on the same issue.
