Telangana govt relaxes upper age limit for uniformed services recruitment by 2 years
The Telangana government has extended the upper age limit for direct recruitment to uniformed services by an additional two years, taking the total relaxation to seven years. The decision, notified through G.O. Ms. No. 122, covers police, fire, prisons, excise, transport and forest departments.

Hyderabad: The State government has further relaxed the upper age limit for direct recruitment to various uniformed services by two years.
As per G.O.Ms.No.122 issued by the General Administration (Services-A) Department on Friday, the additional two-year relaxation will apply to recruitment in the Police, Fire, Prisons, Special Protection Force, Excise, Transport and Forest departments.
The government had earlier enhanced the upper age limit by five years with effect from May 18, 2026.
With the latest order, candidates will now get a total additional age relaxation of seven years for the ensuing recruitments.
The order said, the decision was taken following representations from unemployed youth seeking greater opportunities to participate in government recruitment.
