Khammam: The State Education department dealt a death blow to seven teachers who qualified in the DSC-2024 and were given appointment orders by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy after they got selected for Hindi pandit posts by terminating them from service after 22 days of work. The teachers, who received letters of appointment from Revanth Reddy on October 9 in Hyderabad, had an unpleasant surprise as they were replaced by others overnight without prior intimation. They came to know about their termination when they went to their schools on Thursday as usual and were told by the headmasters that their services were terminated. Panicking over this, they rushed to district educational officer E Somashekara Sarma, who plainly told them that according to GO MS No:25, they did not have the requisite qualification, and hence were sacked.

M Nageshwar Rao of Government High School, Madhira (CPS); Sattu Ramalingaiah of Government High School, Banigandlapadu; Shaik Nagul Meera of Kandukur ZPHS, Vemsoor mandal; Dornala Lavanya of Chilukur ZPHS, Madhira mandal; T Nagalakshmi of Palair ZPHS, Kusumanchi mandal; Tatikonda Sridevi of Remidicharla ZPHS, Yerrupalem mandal, M Venkata Ratnam of Tummalapally ZPHS, Konijarla mandal are the teachers who were terminated.

Speaking to Telangana Today, a Hindi pandit, Shaik Nagul Meera said he reported for duty on October 16 with a lot of hopes on future but was removed from services on November 7 without a proper reason. He said he had the requisite qualification but the DEO was not accepting it. He said he did Hindi Bhushan and Vidwan courses along with a regular degree. For Grade-II Language Pandit posts, the qualification mentioned in the DSC notification was graduation along with Hindi language proficiency certificate.

“How could the Education department terminate our services after giving appointment letters after thorough verification of certificates?” he asked, adding that the only recourse they were left was to move court.Another teacher M Venkata Ratnam said she obtained Hindi Pravina certificate from Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Madras. The certificate was equal to graduation and was approved by University Grants Commission but the DEO Sarma was lacking clarity on qualification requirements for the post, she said.

They were planning to meet Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Saturday seeking justice.
