Hyderabad: The government has decided to take up the pending 4.97 lakh ration cards applications for verification and issue the cards as per their eligibility. This exercise is to be completed before June 25 and it will be limited only to issue of new ration cards and no member addition or mutation will be taken up.

Already, the first level screening of the data has been completed at the NIC level to verify any duplication of applications and if there are any such applications, they would be deleted.

The Mandal Revenue Inspectors will verify the applicants’ data as per the eligibility criteria and recommend issue of new ration cards. Later, the Mandal Revenue Officer or ACSO will check the applications and make his recommendations to the DCSO concerned.

The field level officers will conduct the enquiry duly following the eligibility criteria for issue of new ration cards to the beneficiaries. After completion of field enquiry, the verification reports will be uploaded in the ePDS application with recommendations.

Accordingly, the Civil Supplies department issued guidelines for MRI, Tahsildars and DCSOs to be followed for verification and completion of the exercise.
