Telangana HC declines relief to IPS trainee in harassment case

The Telangana High Court declined interim relief to IPS trainee officer Uday Krishna Reddy, who is facing a sexual harassment case filed by a fellow trainee officer. The court directed notice to the complainant and posted the matter for hearing on August 26.

Hyderabad: Justice J. Sreenivas Rao of the Telangana High Court on Wednesday refused to grant interim relief against arrest to trainee IPS officer Uday Krishna Reddy. It may be recalled that Uday Krishna Reddy is facing a sexual harassment case filed by a trainee IPS officer before the Attapur Police Station.

The petitioner contended that, due to a failed love affair, the lady officer had lodged the case as a retaliatory measure and that the complaint is totally false. He further contended that there is no evidence whatsoever in the case and sought quashing of the FIR against him.

The petitioner’s counsel apprehended the arrest of Uday Krishna Reddy by the police and sought protection against arrest. However, the Judge refused to grant such interim relief while directing personal notice to the complainant. The matter has been posted for further hearing on August 26.
