Trainee IPS officer arrested in sexual harassment case filed by fellow NPA officer
A trainee IPS officer was arrested in Hyderabad in connection with a sexual harassment case filed by a fellow trainee at the National Police Academy. Police conducted a medical examination before producing him before a court, while the investigation into the allegations continues.

Hyderabad: The Attapur police on Wednesday arrested IPS trainee officer M Uday Krishna Reddy for allegedly sexually assaulting and blackmailing a woman IPS trainee and attempting to murder her.
He was produced before the court and remanded to 14 days of judicial custody later in the evening.
A case was registered against Uday Krishna at the Attapur police station on July 19 after the victim lodged a complaint against him. After the case was registered, the suspect allegedly attempted to die by suicide and wrote a note blaming the victim for the situation.
According to the police, Uday Krishna had earlier worked as a police constable and later joined the IPS in the 2025 batch after clearing the UPSC examination. He has been undergoing training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy since December 2025.
In her complaint, the victim alleged that Uday Krishna had been harassing and blackmailing her and had also attempted to kill her.
Following the complaint, the Attapur police registered a case and took the suspect into custody on Wednesday morning near Aramghar crossroads in Hyderabad. It is learnt that Uday Krishna was attempting to escape when a police team nabbed him at Aramghar crossroads.
He was later produced before the court, where the magistrate remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody.
The arrest and investigation were carried out by a special team formed by the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, under the supervision of Dr P Lavanya Naik Jadav, DCP, Women and Child Safety Wing, Hyderabad.
