Hyderabad: Justice T Amarnath Goud of the Telangana High Court on Thursday admitted a writ plea challenging the action of the Central Government in refusing appointment on the basis of the erstwhile districts in the State and without considering the intervening action of the State government in altering the districts in the State.
The judge was dealing with a plea filed by Bittu Sathish who applied for the post of constable with the Central Agency including CRPF. At the time of his application, he stated that he was domiciled in Nalgonda district. The petitioner qualified in the written and physical tests. At the stage of verification of certificates his candidature was sought to be refused on the ground that he was resident of Suryapet district, which was in the past, part of the erstwhile Nalgonda District.
The petitioner contended that he could not be disqualified for the action of the State government in bifurcating the districts. He also pointed out that the present Suryapet district was carved out of erstwhile Nalgonda district and the certificates to the said effect were issued and produced before the recruiting authority. Justice Amarnath Goud directed the recruiting authority to reserve one post.
