Telangana Heritage Department signs MoU with colleges in Sangareddy
The Telangana State Heritage Department signed an MoU with seven government degree colleges in Sangareddy to promote heritage awareness, conservation and research among students through academic activities, field visits and the formation of heritage clubs.

Sangareddy: The Telangana State Heritage Department has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with seven government degree colleges in Sangareddy district as part of its initiative to promote heritage awareness and conservation among students. The MoU was formally signed on Monday by Professor Arjun Rao Kootadi, Director of the Telangana State Heritage Department, along with the principals of the participating colleges.
The institutions involved in this collaboration were Government Degree College, Sadasivpet, Government Degree College, Zaheerabad, Government Tara Degree and PG College, Sangareddy, Government Women’s Degree College, Sangareddy, NM Government Degree College, Jogipet, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Government Degree College, Patancheru and Government Degree College, Narayankhed.
The initiative aims to spread awareness among students about heritage and archaeology, encourage youth participation in the preservation of cultural and historical assets, and promote research-oriented engagement with local heritage sites.
As part of the MoU, various academic and field-based activities will be undertaken, including the establishment of heritage clubs in colleges, field visits to historical sites, workshops and seminars on excavation and exploration practices.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Arjun Rao said that the programme will help students develop a deeper understanding of historical and cultural values while inspiring them to take an active and responsible role in heritage conservation.
The event was attended by key officials and faculty members, including Deputy Director Dr P Nagaraju, OSD Raju, Prof Bangla Bharati, Prof P Ramesh, Prof M Praveen, Prof Aruna Bhai, Prof Narayana, Prof Aslam Farooq, along with other teaching staff and students.
