Hyderabad: A two-Judge panel of the Telangana High Court comprising Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice N Tukaramji on Wednesday directed the State Government not to shift the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) from Mallepally.
The panel was dealing with a letter converted to a PIL written by 133 students of the ITI College stating that the government was trying to allot the land of the ITI College to other organisation and intends to shift the ITI College to a far off place, which would result in hardship and loss of education to those studying in the college and simultaneously working as a part time labour in the nearby industries. The panel directed the State Government to file its counter within 8 weeks and also directed the State to no to create any hinderances in smooth running of the ITI College.
Encroachment: GHMC reply sought The same panel granted 6 week time to Commissioner of GHMC to file its counter in a matter of illegal encroaching of public road and carrying out a illegal construction in one part of the old city. Mohammed Osman filed PIL complaining of inaction on the part of the GHMC on the complaint of the Petitioner stating illegal construction being undertaken by one Shaik Omer Hussain by leveling and digging pits and laying pillars without having any permission from municipal authorities and encroaching the public road near Phisalbanda, Hyderabad.
Civil suits: HC refuses to intervene
The same panel on Wednesday disposed of a PIL filed by Laxma Reddy and 2 others, challenging the action of the State Government in permitting the KSR Educational Society to undertake construction without following the rules of Telangana State Municipalities Act, Telangana State Fire Acts and other Acts. Respondent brought to the notice of the panel that, there are civil suits pending before the Civil Court. The panel disposed off the PIL stating they cannot pass any orders in the matter pending the civil suits.
Contempt petition set aside
The same panel closed a contempt appeal filed by Regional Joint Director of School Education, Warangal, P Rajeev, by setting aside the contempt order issued against him and others for non-consideration of representation of Sayed Mahmood for appointing him as lab attender in an aided post in Islamia High School , Warangal. Syed Mahmood filed a contempt case against the Joint Director, DEO Warangal, DEO Hyderabad and the Regional Joint Director for non-compliance of interim orders of the High Court to consider his representation. The panel set aside the contempt order holding that the representation of the petitioner was considered as directed by the High Court and posted the matter before the single judge to be decided on merits.
