Telangana High Court issues notices to Warangal Urban Collector, RDO, Kazipet Tahsildar

Petitioners challenge allotment of their land by the government to 11 beneficiaries under Lavoni Patta

Hyderabad: Justice K Sharath of the Telangana High Court on Thursday issued notices to District Collector, Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) of Warangal Urban district, and Tahsildar of Kazipet mandal in response to a writ petition filed by P Shyam Kumar and others.

The petitioners challenged the allotment of their land by the government to 11 beneficiaries under Lavoni Patta, citing a prior order of the Land Reforms Appellate Tribunal, Warangal. The tribunal exempted the agricultural land in question from being classified as surplus under land ceiling regulations.

They further alleged inaction by the authorities in reverting the land to them, despite official proceedings supporting their claim. Taking cognizance of the matter, the High Court directed the officials to respond and issued notices for further consideration of the case.
