Telangana: Honorarium of Mayors hiked by 30 per cent

Hyderabad: The State Government has increased the honorarium of Mayors, Deputy Mayors, Chairpersons, Vice Chairpersons, Corporators and Ward members, Co-option members of Urban Local Bodies by 30 per cent.
Orders to this effect were issued on Thursday. The enhanced honorarium will come into effect from June 1, 2021 payable in July 2021. Accordingly, the honorarium of Mayor, which was Rs.50,000 is now enhanced to Rs.65,000. The honorarium of Deputy Mayor, which was Rs.25,000, is enhanced to Rs.32,500. The Ward members honorarium is enhanced from Rs.6,000 to Rs.7,800.
For Municipalities with more than 50,000 population, the honorarium for special and selection grade of Chairperson, which was Rs.15,000 is enhanced to Rs.19,500. Vice-Chairperson’s honorarium is enhanced from Rs.7,500 to Rs.9,750 and ward members honorarium is enhanced from Rs.3,500 to Rs.4,550
For Municipalities with less than 50.000, the honorarium of Chairperson, which was Rs.12,000 is enhanced to Rs.15,600. Vice-Chairperson’s honorarium enhanced from Rs.5,000 to Rs.6,500 and ward members honorarium is enhanced from Rs.2,500 to Rs.3,250.
The Commissioner & Director of Municipal Administration N Satyanarayana submitted proposals for enhancing the honorarium and conveyance allowance to the Mayors, Deputy Mayors, Chairpersons vice Chairpersons and Corporators / Ward members Co-option members or Urban Local Bodies in the State.
