Hyderabad: Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University will soon launch a ‘Horticulture to every Household’ programme to make horticultural crops and products available to every household in the State.
During an event, Vice Chancellor Dr Danda Raji Reddy announced that a special mechanism was being created to apply artificial intelligence for better development in the horticultural sector. “A JRF cum competitive cell is being set up to improve the skills of students in competitive exams. A Center of Excellence will be established for research on genome editing and tissue culture, which have many benefits,” he said.
Dr Reddy urged students to show interest in innovations in research and asked them to publish research papers in reputed journals so that the results can be made available to farmers from time to time. The Vice Chancellor also released the ‘Chronicle of Progress’ and ‘Album’ prepared on the achievements of the university during the year.
University Dean Dr J Cheena spoke about achievements in the field of research, teaching and extension in the past year.
