Telangana Inter second-year student dies by suicide in grandparent’s house

S Rampawar, student of a private college in Kothagudem, took the extreme step as he was being mentally tortured by college management, alleges father

Kothagudem: An Intermediate MPC second-year student of a private college died, reportedly by suicide, in Kothagudem town on Sunday.

S Rampawar (18) hanged himself to death at his grandparent’s house at Vidyanagar in the town. Following the incident, his parents and relatives staged a protest at Sri Nalanda Junior College at Laxmidevipally.

The student’s father S Laxman, speaking to the media, complained that his son, who was a topper in SSC and doing well in Intermediate too, was harassed by the college management.

Rampawar was in the star batch of the college and was preparing for the IIT entrance test, he said.

He said his son was subjected to mental torture, as a result of which he ended his life.

Laxman demanded that action be taken against the college management to ensure that no other student faces such harassment and ends their life.

The Chunchupalli police booked a case and launched a probe.
