Hyderabad: Telangana is independent India’s most successful startup, said IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao.
Speaking at an exclusive ‘Investors Roundtable’ to promote investments into the State of Telangana, he said that there is a great deal of optimism across the globe after the pandemic has subsided. He opined that new opportunities are emerging across sectors in a post-pandemic world. “In 2015, I came to the Bay Area to introduce the new state of Telangana to the world. Today, I am here to narrate the story of a trailblazing and triumphant Telangana,” he said at the event that was hosted by Consul General of India in San Francisco Dr Nagendra Prasad at Los Altos, CA on Wednesday.
He explained how Telangana’s economy is growing at a rapid pace under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. Telangana is a classic example of how equitable growth can be achieved across sectors. “In Telangana, rural and urban development go hand in hand. It is one of those rare States where diverse sectors such as agriculture and information technology are growing at breakneck speed,” he said. Consul General Dr Nagendra Prasad said that the Telangana Minister is known for dynamism and novel initiatives like T-Hub. He appreciated the Rama Rao for his leadership skills.
Rama Rao also met with American electric vehicle manufacturer Lucid Motors Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer Peter Rawlinson and Senior Director of Engineering James Hawkins in San Jose. During the meeting, he positioned Hyderabad for their software development centre. He also met Om Nalamasu, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Applied Materials, and highlighted the industrial policies of Telangana. He positioned Hyderabad for research and development expansion and component manufacturing. Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions for the semiconductor, flat panel display and solar photovoltaic cells.
