Karimnagar: Gangadhara police traced the four year boy, who went missing along with her mother from January 25.
Though his mother Mamatha (25) was found dead near Kondannapalli of Gangadhara mandal on January 27, the whereabouts of the boy were not revealed. In the investigation, police found that Mamatha is from Kaseempet, Bellampalli of Mancherial district.
According to police, Mamatha had a love marriage with Bharath six years ago and the couple had a four-year old son. The couple was staying separately for the past four months due to family disputes.
Mamatha, who is staying at her relatives’ home in Mancherial, left the home along with her son on January 25. The visual of Mamatha getting into a car along with her son was recorded in the CCTV cameras fixed in the locality.
While she was found dead near Kondannapalli on January 27, the boy went missing.
Based on the complaint lodged by gram panchayat secretary Nagelli Jyothi, police registered the case and began investigation by forming special teams.
After struggling for five days, police managed to find the whereabouts of the boy. Knowing that the accused were staying in a hotel in Chennai of Tamil Nadu, police tried to detain them on Sunday. However, they escaped by leaving the boy in the hotel room by noticing the movement of police.
On Monday, the boy was handed over to his grandparents Meda Ramchander and Laxmi by Karimnagar rural ACP and ASP Shubam Prakash.
