Hyderabad: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Sunday said the notification for local body elections in Telangana would be issued by the end of this month. With just about 15 days left, he urged Congress leaders to set aside internal differences and work unitedly for the party’s success.
Addressing a meeting of Congress leaders from the Palair constituency at Khammam, the Minister said more clarity on election dates would emerge after the next Cabinet meeting. The elections would be held in phases, beginning with MPTC and ZPTC polls, followed by the panchayat elections.
“There should be proper coordination among leaders in the villages, and attention must be paid to addressing public issues. Minor differences, if any, should be overlooked in the party’s larger interest,” Srinivas Reddy said, adding that candidate selection would be based on reservation criteria and winnability.
