Mancherial: A man attempted to die by allegedly suicide as he was depressed when his name was included in the list of beneficiaries of Indiramma housing scheme at Royyalapalli village in Kotapalli mandal on Wednesday night.

Kammari Ravinder from Royyalapalli tried to kill himself by consuming some pesticide as he was disheartened after being excluded in the list of beneficiaries of the housing scheme. He was immediately shifted to a hospital in Chennur. His medical condition was said to be stable.

His family members alleged that members of a local selection committee were showing partiality while picking the beneficiaries of the initiative. They accused the members of allocating houses to their relatives and members of the Congress. They stated that Ravinder was depressed when his name was not featured in the list of beneficiaries.
