Nineteen polling staff injured when their vehicle met with an accident in Karimnagar
Karimnagar: Nineteen polling staff returning to Karimnagar after the conduct of polling for the MLC elections were injured when their vehicle met with an accident near Gangadhara on Karimnagar-Jagtial main road early on Friday morning.
The TGSRTC bus transported the ballot boxes and other poling material along with the personnel to the strong room at Ambedkar stadium here after completion of polling on Thursday night.
After depositing the ballot boxes and the polling material, the vehicle returned along with polling staff. When it reached the Gangadhara railway gate, the bus rammed into another bus moving in front of it at around 3 am.
About 19 polling staff, who were travelling in the bus at the time of incident, were injured. Two of them sustained serious injuries. All of them were shifted to Karimnagar district headquarters hospital.
