Mulugu: The District Educational Officer (DEO) and a junior assistant were caught red-handed by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials while allegedly accepting a bribe at the DEO office in Mulugu on Monday.
According to officials, the DEO, Gorla Panini, and junior assistant T Dilip Kumar Yadav, were trapped by the Warangal ACB unit when the junior assistant accepted a bribe of Rs.20,000 from a complainant. The duo had allegedly demanded Rs.15,000 and Rs.5,000 respectively for accepting the complainant’s joining report and allowing him to assume duties. The complainant, a teacher at Laxmipuram in Kannaigudem mandal, had been on sick leave.
Both officials were arrested and will be produced before the Special Court for SPE and ACB Cases in Warangal, an official release stated.
