Hyderabad: Jakkula Tejasvi Reddy, a senior wing cadet of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), had the rare opportunity to not just fly with Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, but also to learn flight manoeuvres from him.
Air Chief Marshal Singh undertook a flying sortie with Tejasvi Reddy at the Air Force Academy, Dundigal, on October 20. The sortie took place before the Air Chief’s final flying sortie with his first flying instructor.
As part of the pre-flight preparations, the cadet underwent cockpit familiarisation, safety briefings, ejection procedure familiarisation and medical checks.
Before boarding the Kiran aircraft, the Air Chief briefed her on its specifications, major components, engine functioning, cockpit procedures and safety mechanisms.
During the sortie, he explained various flight manoeuvres, flight angles and steep turns. He also gave the cadet an opportunity to practise these manoeuvres under his guidance.
