Hyderabad: The State government’s decision to introduce a “Bhudhaar” card detailing the land holdings, as part of the new Bhu Bharati Bill, came under scrutiny with many netizens attributing the idea to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Soon after the Bill was introduced in the Assembly, netizens were quick to dig up the inspiration for the Revanth Reddy government’s “novel” idea of assigning a unique 11 digit code in both temporary and permanent phases. The objective is to digitise the manual revenue records and issue the Bhudhaar card to farmers, detailing their land holdings, according to the government.

Several X users shared an old post of Chandrababu Naidu where he is seen explaining about his brainchild Bhudhaar card which was launched on May 30, 2018 in Krishna district and later expanded to rest of Andhra Pradesh.

“This is from where the current regime in Telangana draws its policies,” posted a X user Sripaad R.

Another X user took a dig at the State government for lacking new ideas to implement and sourcing them from neighbouring States.
