Telangana: Newly wed woman dies, husband injured in accident in Nirmal

Nirmal: In a tragic incident, a newly married woman and her father were killed when their car plunged into a gorge while returning from her reception, at Pandavapur village in Kaddam mandal early on Saturday. Two others, her husband Janardhan and their driver Ranadheer, sustained serious injuries and their condition is said to be critical.
Kaddam Sub-Inspector K Raju said that the deceased were identified as Konda Mounika (25) and her father Rajaiah (50), a farmer belonging to Patha Maddipadaga village in Kaddam mandal.
Mounika suffered fatal injuries when the car accidentally fell into the gorge on the outskirts of Pandavapur, resulting in her instant death at around 1.15 am, police said and added that Rajaiah who suffered severe injuries breathed his last while being rushed to the hospital.
Mounika was married to Janardhan who is a native of Maharashtra on August 25 and they were returning to Patha Maddipadaga after their marriage reception in Janardhan’s native place Balharshah in Maharashtra. The police suspect that the accident occurred when the driver dozed off at the wheel and lost control over the vehicle.
The bodies were shifted to Khanapur government hospital for post-mortem.
