Hyderabad: Relatives of a 35-year-old private employee Vereddy Anand Kumar, a resident of Kalwakurthy in Mahabubnagar, who was declared brain dead by doctors, have donated his organs to needy patients, as part of Jeevandan organ donation initiative.

On March 30, he collapsed after complaining of giddiness and was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment. With no improvement in his health condition, on April 1, he was declared brain dead by the attending team of doctors. The wife of the victim Vereddy Srivani gave the consent to donate her husband’s organs.

The surgeons retrieved liver, two kidneys, lungs and two corneas and donated them to needy patients.
