Telangana: Over 12,000 healthcare workers get second Covid shot on Friday

Hyderabad: The Public Health Department on Friday inoculated the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine to 12,668 healthcare workers out of the targeted 16,308 individuals. There were no reports of Adverse Events Following Immunisation, Director of Public Health (DPH) Dr G Srinivasa Rao said. So far, the health authorities have administered the second dose of Covid vaccine to 91,524 healthcare workers in Telangana.
As many as 1,93,486 healthcare workers from both government and private healthcare institutions in Telangana had received the first dose of Covid vaccine and they will receive the second dose after 28 days of receiving the first dose. The total number of frontline workers who received the first dose of Covid vaccine is 86,442 and they will receive the second dose in the coming weeks, based on their vaccination schedule.
The drive to administer second dose of Covid vaccine to healthcare workers and first dose to frontline workers will continue across all the districts in Telangana on Saturday.
