Hyderabad: The Panchayati Raj department is gearing up for the fourth edition of Palle Pragathi which will commence from Thursday across the State. Special teams involving sarpanch, panchayat secretary, MPTCs, linemen from electricity and Mission Bhagiratha have been constituted to execute different works with special focus on distribution of six saplings to each household as part of Haritha Haram.
During Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s meeting with District Collectors on Saturday, clear instructions were issued to the officials on the measures to be taken for the implementation of Palle Pragathi programme. Gram Sabhas are to be conducted to finalise day-wise action plan and District Collectors will be appoint a Special Officer for each mandal to lead the programme. The Panchayat Secretaries will identify the activities to be taken up and upload the Gram Panchayat Action Plan on www.epanchayat.telangana.gov.in before June 30.
As part of the village infrastructure development, emphasis was on construction of incomplete village dumping yards and Vaikuntadhamams and completing the works as per schedule. Special instructions have been issued to the officials to acquire lands for setting up dumping yards and construction of Vaikuntadhamams in case government lands are not available.
Bio-fencing plantations to be taken up at all the village dump yards and Vaikuntadhamams this year to prevent encroachments and ensure cleanliness.
Officials have been directed to observe one day as Power Day during the Palle Pragathi programme. All the damaged and rusted electricity poles are to be replaced with new electricity poles. Street lights’ maintenance should be taken up and damaged wires and other components should be replaced.
In the wake of monsoon, sanitation was being accorded importance and officials have been instructed to clear dilapidated buildings. Health officials have been asked to initiate measures to control vector borne diseases by spraying anti-larval chemicals and extensive fogging activities.
